Istanbul is a city in Turkey. The first Muslim attack on the city of Istanbul took place in 672 AD. But they failed after a siege of seven years. The historical significance of this siege is that He died during the same campaign and was buried in Istanbul.
The conquest of Istanbul was destined for Muhammad II, the son of Murad II, also known as Muhammad the Conqueror. Sultan Muhammad the Conqueror invaded Istanbul in 1452 with a full plan. The sultan entered the city victoriously and was the first to offer Friday prayers at Hagia Sophia. When the Muslims conquered Constantinople, the people fled. They thought that when the conquerors arrived, an angel would descend from heaven and push them back. Sultan Muhammad the Conqueror dismounted and entered the church. He prayed there.
The Muslims added many constructions to it. Gray forts were built on the walls and ceilings. The walls on which the idols were made were demolished and a new wall was built. Sultan Muhammad built a tall minaret. Salim Sani went north. Murad III completed the other two minarets and repair work. He built two large surgical drains from the inside near the main gate and built two large cabooses, on which the Holy Qur'an was recited.
One of the characteristics of Istanbul is that it is called the city of mosques, where the architecture of the Ottoman era is displayed in all its splendor. There are about 500 mosques in the entire city, but the Sulaimaniyah Mosque is a masterpiece of Islamic architecture.
Two or three years ago, I came at the invitation of the Turkish government. The third Islamic Conference on Medicine was held in Istanbul under the auspices of Central Islamic Medicine in Kuwait. We, the delegates, came with him to pray in Sulaymaniyah. Arrangements were made in the front row for all the delegates. There were thousands of worshipers. The mosque was full of mud. The Friday sermon was in half Arabic and half Turkish. When the Friday prayers ended, it was announced that "give way for the delegates".
As soon as this announcement was made, the path from the member to the door became four feet. The prayers stood in two attitudes. One man did not move from his place and all of us delegates came out with great satisfaction. This is a matter of organization. They have become a very humble and organized nation. Their discipline is making them the greatest nation in the world.
